For a special bonus episode of the Jack Vita Show, Jack is joined by one of last year's winners of the elusive Dr. Pepper Tuition Giveaway.
Every year, at halftime of each of the Power 5's conference championships games, students are given the opportunity to compete for a $100,000 scholarship from Dr. Pepper. They do so by throwing footballs through a hole. The student that scores more points in the provided amount of time wins. Jazlyn Rodriguez Hernandez grew up in a low-income community in Colorado. She attends Texas Christian University, and is the first in her family to attend college. Winning the competition last year at the Big 12 Championship in Arlington, TX was a life-changing experience for her. She tells her story of how she applied, how she was accepted, and how she won. She also shares behind-the-scenes information about the contest, and provides some helpful tips for future competitors!
The 2021 Dr. Pepper Tuition Giveaway is now accepting applicants.
