Sweet 16 set for GOAT Christmas Movie Bracket

After an exciting first round of the Greatest Christmas Movie of All-Time Bracket, the action has not disappointed.

While most of round one's contests were decided in a landslide, there were a pair of match-ups that resulted in a photo finish over the last week. On Friday, #2 Die Hard narrowly beat #7 Love Actually 65-60. The "Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?" debate is alive and well; I did not expect that match-up to be as close as it was. Die Hard will have its work cut out for itself in the Sweet 16 vs. The Santa Clause.

Earlier in the week, #3 White Christmas fell to #6 Deck the Halls, 48-42. The Christmas comedy starring Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito was the only 6 seed (or lower) to advance to the Sweet 16.

Here's a look at the rest of the scoreboard:

#4 Home Alone 2: Lost in New York 51, #5 How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) 40

#3 A Christmas Carol/Scrooge (1951) 44, #6 Scrooged 22

#2 Christmas Vacation 67, #7 The Holiday 22

#1 It's a Wonderful Life 79, #8 Olive, the Other Reindeer 24

#4 The Santa Clause 2 68, #5 Jingle All the Way 35

#1 Elf 88, #8 Fred Claus 5

#2 Charlie Brown Christmas 100, #7 Arthur Christmas 2

#1 A Christmas Story 81, #8 Christmas with the Kranks 43

#5 Polar Express 81, #4 Frosty the Snowman 46
