These movies are advancing to the Elite Eight of the GOAT Christmas Movie Bracket

Following two weeks of voting, the GOAT Christmas Movie Bracket is down to the Elite Eight.

The closest match-up of the Sweet 16 came in the form of Wednesday's 1-4 match-up. #1 It's a Wonderful Life just barely inched its way past #4 The Santa Clause 2, 53-49. The 2002 sequel put up a good fight, but unfortunately it was not enough to take down the 1946 classic. It's a Wonderful Life will face Charlie Brown Christmas, hot off a 86-13 victory over Deck the Halls, on Tuesday.

In the biggest upset of the bracket thus far, #5 Polar Express knocked out #1 A Christmas Story, 57-42 on Thursday, an outcome nobody could have expected. Here's a look at the full scoreboard:

#1 It's a Wonderful Life 53, #4 The Santa Clause 2 49

#5 Polar Express 57, #1 A Christmas Story 42

#1 Home Alone 83, #4 Miracle on 34th Street 13

#1 Elf 96, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York 21

#3 The Santa Clause 66, #2 Die Hard 36

#2 Christmas Vacation 85, A Christmas Carol/Scrooge (1951) 23

#2 Charlie Brown Christmas 86, #6 Deck the Halls 13

#3 How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966) 56, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer 38
