Former catcher, World Series hero and Dancing with the Stars contestant David Ross has been hired to manage the Chicago Cubs, filling the hole that Joe Maddon's departure left for the team. The move is an interesting one, considering that Ross was the teammate of many current Cubs' players and he will now be their boss.
Cubs fan and Valparaiso University sports information director Brandon Vickrey joins Jack for an emergency podcast episode of the Jack Vita Show, as both share their immediate thoughts on the hire.
Is Ross the right guy? Did the Cubs skip out on better options? What should we expect from Ross as a manger? What hurdles will he have to overcome to make a smooth transition from former teammate to manager?
Later, Brandon and Jack preview the Cubs' off-season, discuss other teams' managerial selections and openings, analyze the World Series after two games, and talk about the newest season of Survivor.
